Our founder, Simon Coulton, began his career in the British Army before moving into senior delivery roles across the NHS and Ministry of Defence. I started this business because I saw the same thing happening again and again: over-engineered solutions, unclear accountability and delivery teams spinning their wheels while leadership buried itself in slides and reports.
I’ve worked across defence, healthcare and central government, including over a decade managing high-value IT infrastructure programmes in secure, high-stakes environments. What I learned is simple: delivery only happens when someone takes clear ownership.
Confi was built to do just that, to step in when there’s pressure to perform, when expectations are real and when things can’t be allowed to slip. Our approach is straightforward: clear scope, structured leadership and steady delivery. We focus on aligning people, managing complexity and giving senior stakeholders confidence that the job is in hand.
But I didn’t build Confi to be about one person. The goal has always been to grow a consultancy of experienced professionals who take delivery seriously, people who lead with clarity, communicate honestly and manage through challenge without creating drama. That’s what clients want. Not noise. Not theatre. Just real progress, built on trust and control.
